Our Mission:
The Burnett County Historical Society at Forts Folle Avoine Historical Park
provides educational opportunities to the public
by researching, preserving and teaching the history of Burnett County
Historical Society Members, along with community sponsors, volunteers, and other donors assist in fulfilling the stated mission.
In support of our mission, many events are held throughout the year. Click on Complete Schedule and Educational Series to explore the wonderfully diverse events and enriching activities.
Financial support for these endeavors is provided by sponsors throughout the business community; in addition, our volunteers give generously of their time, talents, and resources. Very important to the Burnett County Historical Society, too, are its members!
Current goals of the Burnett County Historical Society include:
(1) Facilitate/enhance/expand educational opportunities related to the history of Burnett County and the fur trade era;
(2) Develop and maintain key partnerships;
(3) Establish and maintain financial stability to support our mission.
The Forts Folle Avoine is a Burnett County treasure!
