Requests
Burnett County Historical Society volunteers can process written requests. Please submit your request with one surname per request. It helps if you are specific and provide whatever information you deem relevant. Remember to include your mailing address!
The library research charge is $10 per hour--which is generally sufficient to fill most requests. You may put a limit on the cost you wish to incur for research; please allow 4 to 6 weeks for a response to your request.

“Out of Print” Books
On occasion, books out of print and relevant to Burnett County's history are available for sale. Prior to placing an order, please phone or email to assure your selection is still available.

Archives
The records contained in the Burnett County Historical Society’s History Library relate to the history of the county and the surrounding area both before and after the county boundaries were formed. The diverse collection includes manuscripts, newspapers, original ledgers, photographs, maps, microfilm, microfiche, indexes, scrapbooks, taped interviews, booklets, and other published literature.

Through sharing, the entire community can gain! The Burnett County Historical Society takes seriously its responsibility to care for and preserve documents as well as providing appropriate access to them.

It is through gifts and donations that the library archives, equipment and furnishings have been acquired. Any donation, whatever its amount, is greatly appreciated and goes toward maintaining and expanding the library and its services. Library History
The Burnett County Historical Society’s History Library was established in 1999 and, early the following spring, the archives were moved into the Harris Palmer House which then became the History Library.
